eBay’s ‘Small Business United’ initiative saw the brand work with all 72 EFL member clubs to donate advertising space for brilliant small, local businesses in their respective communities. But how could they cut through the noise of numerous partner announcements to powerfully illustrate this important campaign?
To launch the sponsorship, we identified and contracted EFL legend and small business entrepreneur Dion Dublin as the perfect face of the campaign. We worked with Dion to create a piece of content charting his emotional meeting with Joe, a young eBay seller and owner of the 'JoeJoeJMS Cards and Collectibles' small business.
Dion surprised Joe with the emotional news that this was the first business to benefit from ‘Small Business United’ at AFC Wimbledon’s Plough Lane, with the moment captured in a short film.
The partnership got off to a flying start with more than 150 pieces of coverage across national and strategically vital regional media.
