The Barclay’s Women’s Super League enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2022/23, with attendances up by 170% and viewing figures at an all-time high.

As the on-pitch action came down to a crescendo with a four-way race for the title, MatchFit was briefed to work with The FA on a proactive press office campaign to maximise the noise around the season finale.

Amidst a month-long campaign leveraging angles and access in the lead-up to the final weekend, as a fitting culmination we worked with The FA to commission an exclusive mural artwork in celebration of Chelsea FC’s achievement as winners of a record-breaking WSL.

The 13ft design was featured on Portobello Road for one week, with local star and player of the year Guro Reiten as a triumphant showcase.

The mural made a huge splash as part of a massive week for The WSL, with hero coverage with the likes of BBC Sport, ITV London, BBC London, Sky Sports News and OneFootball.
