Sportside Appoints MatchFit as Sports PR Agency
We are proud to announce that Sportside, the innovative sports tech company seeking to connect millions of grassroots participants to meet their sporting match, has appointed MatchFit as its retained PR agency following a competitive pitch process.
Sportside has ambitious plans for growth, emphasised by a July fund raise which secured backing to the value of £15million from impact investors Fortunis Capital Group. We will initially lead on communications ahead of the Sportside app launch this autumn, a new one-stop platform which enables people to “connect and play” across an initial 20 sports and find their perfect sporting match by age, ability and geography.
As it seeks to build an engaged community all driven by a passion for sport, the innovative new app will also give clubs and coaches the resource to manage their business and attract new clients. The launch comes at a time when sporting play is perhaps more important than ever before, following the first COVID-19 lockdown which is still having a lasting impact on the accessibility and availability of sport.
Hermione Way, Chief Marketing Officer for Sportside said:
“At Sportside we are all about helping people to find their sporting match, and that is what we’ve done by appointing MatchFit as our new sports PR agency. Throughout the process we were impressed with MatchFit’s creative approach and deep knowledge of sport, as well as our shared set of cultural beliefs. We believe that sport should be truly accessible to all, and are looking forward to the start of our journey together.”
Donald Parish, Co-Founder of MatchFit, said:
“We were drawn straight away to Sportside’s inspiring plans to help millions of amateur players to connect and play. The brand’s proposition runs true to our core agency beliefs in the ability of sport to drive a positive change in society, while the infrastructure and technology behind their platform means Sportside is uniquely placed to make this happen. We can’t wait to roll out our first public campaign soon.”
